Catherine Mary Hicks (born August 6, 1951) is an American television, film, and stage actress. She is known for her role as Annie Camden on the long-running television series ''7th Heaven''. Other notable roles have been: Dr. Faith Coleridge on the soap opera, ''Ryan's Hope'' (1976–78), her Emmy-nominated performance as Marilyn Monroe in ''Marilyn: The Untold Story'' (1980), Dr. Gillian Taylor in ''Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home'' (1986), and Karen Barclay in ''Child's Play'' (1988). ==Early life== Hicks was born in New York City, the daughter of Jackie, a homemaker, and Walter Hicks, an electronics salesman.〔(The Celebrity Collector - Catherine Hicks )〕 She is of Irish and English ancestry.〔(Irish People and Ireland - Irish news, events in Ireland, Irish culture, genealogy, music, Ireland travel )〕 Her family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona during her childhood.〔(Interview in Ability Magazine )〕 She was a cheerleader at Gerard Catholic High School in Phoenix, Arizona and a member of The National Honor Society (NHS).〔American Cheerleader Magazine December 2001 issue/ Article "Spirit Lost - and Found”〕 She graduated in 1969.
